Milwaukee Art Museum

Davenport Hotels Milwaukee Art Museum is home to over 25,000 works of art. The art works include important collections of Old Masters, artworks during the 19th and 20th century. The museum also contains some of the nation’s best collections of German Expressionism, folk and Haitian art, American decorative arts, and post-1960 American art.

Milwaukee Art Museum comprised of three buildings designed by three legendary architects. It contains War Memorial Center, Quadracci Pavilion and Cudahy Gardens. The War Memorial Center is shaped like a floating cross with wings cantilevered from a central base. Time magazine called it “one of the country’s finest examples of modern architecture put to work for civic purposes.”

Milwaukee Art Museum gained an international reputation with the construction of white concrete Quadracci Pavilion. The structure contains movable, wing-like brise soleil which opens up for wingspan of 217 feet that unfolds and folds twice daily and the Reiman Bridge, a pedestrian suspension bridge that connects the Museum to the city.
